Natural tree stands, walking trails, naturalized ponds and community parks are just a few perks Rutherford's residents enjoy. This community has been carefully designed to take advantage of its beautiful natural location in southwest Edmonton's Heritage Valley.
A stand of native trees and an extensive urban forest greets visitors as they drive along Rutherford Road. Columnar aspen, ash, elm and chokecherry trees line the boulevards. Tree planting is also an architectural requirement for all Rutherford homeowners in order to enhance the natural atmosphere of the community.
Rutherford also features two naturalized storm ponds, which function as stormwater run-off facilities and provide additional parkspace for the community. Embrace life as you stroll the shoreline trails and interact naturally with our vibrant surroundings.
The trails of Rutherford extend throughout the community, connecting residents to parks and, in the near future, to schools and adjacent communities situated along the City of Edmonton's renowned trail system.
